Qeelin Presents Yet Another Timeless Classic Special Edition Wulu Dunhuang Necklace
Fine jewellery brand pays homage to the spirit of East meets West with the launch of the Wulu Dunhung necklace. A design featuring a culturally rich heritage and modern craftsmanship, the limited edition masterpiece fuses the unique aesthetics of East and West.

An important landmark on the ancient Silk Road, Dunhuang was the centre of cultural exchanges between the East and the West. And more importantly, Dunhuang was where the Qeelin spirit was nurtured. Back in 1997, before the Qeelin brand was born, Dennis Chan, Founder and Creative Director of Qeelin, visited Dunhuang, Gansu for the first time. He was deeply moved by the rich historical and cultural heritage evident in the art displayed in the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. And the idea of Qeelin was seeded.

Dennis explains: “Chinese civilisation has long put great emphasis on balance and harmony. As someone who loves both Chinese and Western cultures, these traditional values permeate each and every one of my designs. Wulu is Qeelin’s signature collection. It takes on the mystical meaning of the Wulu and transforms it into a style symbol, modernising something old and bringing its positive energy, protective wishes and classic beauty into our everyday lives. The Chinese pronunciation of Wulu is similar to that of a Chinese amulet that grants health and luck. The shape of the Wulu epitomises the roundness of wealth, symbolising the flow of money. It’s very auspicious.”

This item exclusively available in Qeelin's Chinese Mainland and Taiwan region stores.

This season Qeelin dazzles the fashion scene by dancing to a new beat. Introducing Qeelin’s newest creation – Hip Bo Bo. Hip Bo Bo is not simply a fashion statement, but a milestone in jewellery making. For the first time, a fine jewellery piece is presented with a switch mechanism that allows the wearer to change Hip Bo Bo’s hand gesture. Just pull and twist the headpiece to switch the hand gesture. Make it a ‘thumbs up’, a ‘heart’ or a ‘V’ to suit your mood. Convey love, positivity and victory with this inter-changeable pendant style. This turns a new page in fine jewellery making and is testament to Qeelin’s vision to make fine jewellery that is fun, personalised, and articulates the mood of the wearer.

Creative Director Dennis Chan explains, “Some of you may have heard about my latest hobby – rap and hip-hop music. Just one look at my outfits and you know I love hip hop. I love the freedom expressed in Hip Hop fashion, the honesty of its music and the power of its lyrics. I’ve been composing and producing music for fun. But the inspiration has spilled over to my jewellery design. And Bo Bo, one of my more playful lines for Qeelin, is a natural translation for my music.”

The First Chinese Jeweler Boutique Opens on Place Vendôme
The history of Qeelin is one of encounters, interactions and travels. It could be said to date back to the 13th century, on a voyage that takes us along an imaginary Silk Road, in this case paved with precious stones. A dialogue between cultures and symbols. At Place Vendôme, the new Qeelin boutique brings the East into contact with the West. Both share a passion for beauty, the excellence of craftsmanship and a glorious shared history that inspires them to join forces.
THE BOUTIQUE
The Qeelin boutique on Place Vendôme is a showcase: a luxurious display place where the jewellery pieces reveal themselves one by one like the objects in a cabinet of curiosities. It reveals the playful universe of Qeelin and its designer, who invites us to a journey of surprise and discovery.Touches of Qeelin red appear here and there, discreetly marking out the space, as a fleeting reflection in the mercury mirrors dotted with lead, just like those that hung in the aristocratic dwellings of 18th-century France. Thus, the boutique remains profoundly marked by the House aesthetics while developing a unique atmosphere that links China to Europe through seven hundred years of shared history.

Wulu Jade - An heirloom fit for Emperors
For more than 5000 years, Chinese craftsmen have revered jade as a precious stone with protective powers. It is the most popular gemstone in China. So it’s only natural that Qeelin, a modern fine jewellery house rooted in Chinese symbolism, should launch a new jade collection within its signature Wulu range. Using only exquisite grade A jade which is all natural without any chemical treatment, this new Wulu Jade collection in 18K rose gold with diamonds is indeed fit for royalty.

Creative Director and co-founder Dennis Chan reveals, “The beauty of flawless Jade is evident to all. Its colour, the way it feels in your hand, they are all good reasons to choose jade. But beyond that, I love its deeper meaning. Good jade is often passed down through the generations as a protective stone and a symbol of good fortune. It carries the giver’s well wishes and love. I hope you’ll feel just as loved and protected when you wear a piece from the Wulu Jade collection.”

This new collection showcases Qeelin’s trademark craftsmanship and attention to detail. It includes precious pendants and earrings in different sizes, an elegant bracelet and a stylish necklace.

Mr. Dennis Chan at The New York Times 2018 International Luxury Conference

Mr. Dennis Chan, Founder and Creative Director of Qeelin, had a fascinating panel discussion on The East-West Luxury Superhighway in The New York Times 2018 International Luxury Conference in Hong Kong yesterday.

“Created in 2004, Qeelin is a fine jewelry brand that takes inspiration from Chinese symbolism. The language we are using in design is very international. We have a strong Chinese character but still the presentation of Qeelin is very international. From day one when I launched Qeelin, I aim at an international brand. This is why I opened a store in Paris”, said Dennis. He also explained that the philosophy and creativity behind a brand are more important than where it comes from.

Reveal your very own style with Wulu designs
The launch of the Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets in late September 2018 was a resounding success. Both the public and celebrities have embraced the inimitable designs. Just like Grace Wong, the talented TVB actress who looked simply stunning on the cover of Marie Claire Accessories (October 2018). Wearing the Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets that appeared in a choice of black/gold/beige/red/blue bracelets against a romantic autumnal scene of florals and fauna, Grace captured the essence of the Qeelin woman – independent, feminine, beautiful and unique.
A truly chic woman defines her own style. Accenting casual wear with witty jewellery or mixing it up and breaking the rules, she exudes her unique charm. Whether in real life or in front of the camera, she always dazzles with a style that’s her own. The Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets have been spotted on China actresses Yi Sun, Li Xirui, Taiwanese actress Janine Chang, Hong Kong actress Jeanie Chan, model and fashion guru Kayla Wong, Amy Lo, Carmina Lo, Kalin Chiu, Cecilia Ngan, Maggie Stadelmann and more. These spirited modern women have interpreted the Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets in their own way – from sweet and girly to neat and minimal; bold and passionate to delicate and elegant – each displaying her individuality and exemplifying a spirit that’s characteristically Qeelin.
