Jewellery Care & Handling

Qeelin jewellery is delicate and must be handled with the greatest care to maintain its condition.

Extra care should be taken to avoid exposing your jewellery to household chemicals like  bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water. These chemicals may cause  colour changes and even structural damage to the jewellery.

Please take off your jewellery before showering, sleeping, swimming, and exercising.  Avoid brushing your jewellery against hard or sharp objects to prevent damage.

Cosmetics, hairspray, perfumes and lotion contain chemicals that may damage jewellery.  Putting on jewellery after applying these materials will reduce any potential damage.

To ensure longevity of your jewellery, cleaning your jewellery properly and regularly can maintain its beauty. Avoid cleaning in any form of chemical solution. Instead, use a clean, dry cloth. Jewellery with only gold and diamond can use warm, well-diluted soapy water whereas pearl, magnet, jade, and ceramic should be avoided. Rinse with the diluted water mix, and pat dry with a soft cloth. If you are using a commercial brand of jewellery cleaner, pay careful attention to the directions, particularly the length of time advised to soak the article. We always recommend using a solution bought from a jewellery store, as it is uniquely formulated to gently dislodge dirt and grime.

Ceramic, and jade jewellery should be treated with special care as it can break, crack or chip if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces. Do not use any jewellery cleansers or household detergents. Ultrasonic cleaner should be avoided as well.

Silver jewellery should only be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth or professional cloths. Tissue or paper towels may cause scratches, because of their harsh fibers.

Clean your jewellery after wearing and keep it in a jewel box. Store your jewellery in a jewel box with compartments or dividers. Avoid stacking jewellery together to prevent scratches.
