Wulu Jade - An heirloom fit for Emperors
For more than 5000 years, Chinese craftsmen have revered jade as a precious stone with protective powers. It is the most popular gemstone in China. So it’s only natural that Qeelin, a modern fine jewellery house rooted in Chinese symbolism, should launch a new jade collection within its signature Wulu range. Using only exquisite grade A jade which is all natural without any chemical treatment, this new Wulu Jade collection in 18K rose gold with diamonds is indeed fit for royalty.

Creative Director and co-founder Dennis Chan reveals, “The beauty of flawless Jade is evident to all. Its colour, the way it feels in your hand, they are all good reasons to choose jade. But beyond that, I love its deeper meaning. Good jade is often passed down through the generations as a protective stone and a symbol of good fortune. It carries the giver’s well wishes and love. I hope you’ll feel just as loved and protected when you wear a piece from the Wulu Jade collection.”

This new collection showcases Qeelin’s trademark craftsmanship and attention to detail. It includes precious pendants and earrings in different sizes, an elegant bracelet and a stylish necklace.

Dennis Chan beamed, “I’m elated that we created this with my dear friend and designer extraordinaire, Alan Chan. A visual artist who was selected for the Shanghai Biennale (2002 & 2006), he’s also the first Hong Kong designer invited to hold a solo exhibition at the Shanghai Art Museum in 2007. 15 years ago, Alan created Qeelin’s logo. So this relationship has really come full circle.”

Alan was equally effusive. “As Dennis's long-time friend, I’m truly proud of Qeelin’s success in the past 15 years. When directing this brand video, from concept, visual image, styling to music, I capture Chinese symbolism with modern aesthetics. The result is a visual celebration of elegance and playfulness, classic and contemporary feminine beauty. The fast-cut editing style depicts the many faces of beauty as well as the versatility of the jewellery. The Wulu Red Agate Collection - The Year of the Pig looks lucky already
The Lunar New Year is just round the corner and the search for auspicious jewellery to welcome a lucky Year of the Pig has begun. While respecting tradition on the one hand, the style connoisseur would demand for timeless items that can reflect one's personality.

This year looks especially lucky in Qeelin’s Wulu Red Agate Collection. Qeelin’s Wulu collection is a true classic that has stood the test of time. Remember its debut at Cannes in 2004 when superstar Maggie Cheung created a stir wearing Qeelin’s Wulu? To the present day, the Qeelin Wulu collection continues to dazzle as iconic fine jewellery.
To usher in the Year of the Pig, Qeelin launched a new Wulu Red Agate Collection in early January. It features 7 beautiful pieces in 18k rose gold, sparkling diamonds and natural red agate, skilfully enhanced to bring out its intrinsic qualities. The iconic Wulu appears in four of these new designs in its regular size while three other designs feature a petite Wulu.

This latest Wulu incantation in a bold Chinese red from natural red agate is a proud tribute to Chinese heritage and custom. As you know, it is customary to wear red during Chinese New Year. The combination of this auspicious colour with an auspicious ancient symbol is artfully designed to bring you twice the blessings while you look doubly stylish.

Looks like Chinese New Year can be fashionable and lucky at the same time.

For a better homeland for pandas, The Qeelin Panda Conservation Initiative
Luxury Jewellery House Qeelin has launched The Qeelin Panda Conservation Initiative with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to restore and protect ravaged bamboo forests, the panda’s natural habitat.

The Qeelin Panda Conservation Initiative aims to restore and improve habitat quality in these fragile yet crucial habitats. This issue is especially pertinent in the bridging areas that serve as a Panda corridor between nature reserves. Qeelin will also engage local communities and forest farms to help provide better management and protection to more than 10,000 hectares of panda habitat.

“I am blessed that Qeelin is collaborating with WWF in this meaningful project. When I first designed our Bo Bo Collection, they are cherished everywhere as symbols of innocence and peace. ” says Dennis Chan, Founder and Creative Director of Qeelin.

“It’s very encouraging to see enterprises like Qeelin are getting involved in wildlife conservation. We always believe that environmental problems cannot be solved by one organization. But with jointly effort with our partners, we can have a better future for pandas and other wildlife.” Says Zhou Fei, Chief Programme Officer of WWF China.

Mr. Dennis Chan at The New York Times 2018 International Luxury Conference

Mr. Dennis Chan, Founder and Creative Director of Qeelin, had a fascinating panel discussion on The East-West Luxury Superhighway in The New York Times 2018 International Luxury Conference in Hong Kong yesterday.

“Created in 2004, Qeelin is a fine jewelry brand that takes inspiration from Chinese symbolism. The language we are using in design is very international. We have a strong Chinese character but still the presentation of Qeelin is very international. From day one when I launched Qeelin, I aim at an international brand. This is why I opened a store in Paris”, said Dennis. He also explained that the philosophy and creativity behind a brand are more important than where it comes from.

The New Wulu Pendant, Dare to Denim?
For the rebel in us, Qeelin has designed a first-ever Wulu Denim Pendant in 18K white gold with diamonds. The bold contrast is classic Qeelin. Denim is an everyday material, functional though with cool street appeal. Diamonds surely are on the opposite end of the spectrum. This contrast makes the new Qeelin Wulu pendant even more unusual and fashionably on point.
Qeelin Creative Director Dennis Chan bemuses, “Why not denim? We’re taking a risk, we know, but being stylish requires you to push boundaries. Maybe, even to redefine the rules when the time is ripe. Helmut Lang did it with his game-changing paint-splattered luxury denim jeans. Now Qeelin brings denim back to the gold it was invented to help seek. And we’re adding diamonds while we’re at it.” He laughs, “Also, because denim is just fun. Why can’t we have some fun with luxury jewellery?”

One thing is for sure, you can look forward to more beautiful surprises from Qeelin.

Reveal your very own style with Wulu designs
The launch of the Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets in late September 2018 was a resounding success. Both the public and celebrities have embraced the inimitable designs. Just like Grace Wong, the talented TVB actress who looked simply stunning on the cover of Marie Claire Accessories (October 2018). Wearing the Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets that appeared in a choice of black/gold/beige/red/blue bracelets against a romantic autumnal scene of florals and fauna, Grace captured the essence of the Qeelin woman – independent, feminine, beautiful and unique.
A truly chic woman defines her own style. Accenting casual wear with witty jewellery or mixing it up and breaking the rules, she exudes her unique charm. Whether in real life or in front of the camera, she always dazzles with a style that’s her own. The Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets have been spotted on China actresses Yi Sun, Li Xirui, Taiwanese actress Janine Chang, Hong Kong actress Jeanie Chan, model and fashion guru Kayla Wong, Amy Lo, Carmina Lo, Kalin Chiu, Cecilia Ngan, Maggie Stadelmann and more. These spirited modern women have interpreted the Wulu Interchangeable Bracelets in their own way – from sweet and girly to neat and minimal; bold and passionate to delicate and elegant – each displaying her individuality and exemplifying a spirit that’s characteristically Qeelin.
