Qeelin X Model & social media star Irene Kim, Perfect Match in #BeQeelinBeYourself
Qeelin continues its year-long campaign #BeQeelinBeYourself by turning its spotlight on model, influencer, and creative director of her own production studio Irene Kim. The campaign focuses on Kim’s individuality – in her style, in her looks, even in her route to a modelling career.
“To me, style means wearing what suits me and makes me feel comfortable in my own way, no matter it is following the latest fashion trends or not,” Kim says. “My definition of style… is an expression used to show your true personality without saying a single word.” Kim sports a dazzling array of Qeelin jewellery – and brings to the pieces a dash of her special brand of streetwise chic.

Qeelin creates Limited Edition Paris Bo Bo to mark the launch of its latest Parisian boutique
Qeelin is introducing a limited addition to its iconic range of Bo Bo bears to mark the opening of its latest Parisian boutique, at the prestigious Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. On walking into the new boutique customers enter the Qeelin universe, surrounded by signature design elements such as bronze coloured partitions ornamented with Wulu motifs, and with the iconic red and black brand colours extensively deployed.
To celebrate the opening of the new boutique, Qeelin has created a limited edition of 28 large Paris Bo Bo pendants exclusive to France. The number 28 is considered auspicious number by the Chinese. Crafted in 18K white gold set with precious stones as a tribute to the French Tricoleur flag, this Bo Bo’s right limbs are studded with blue sapphires, left limbs with red rubies, and body with diamonds.

New Vision for Yu Yi With Simple Easy Styling
The new collection includes bangles, bracelets and necklaces. The bangles come in an original new design, with two facing locks in red, white or onyx, and are edged in pavé diamonds or 18K white or rose gold. Compact in size and chic in design, Yu Yi bangles are perfect for stacking, or for adding to your promises of love, year after year. If you give someone a Yu Yi lock, you are giving that person a blessing. And a lock means so much more — to lock up love, promises, memories, health, friendship, and so on. This may be the most romantic Qeelin collection, in a way.
Themed on the traditional Chinese symbol for longevity — yuyi lock, which literally means “to manifest things at will and bring ease, comfort and freedom to life” — the collection is part of Qeelin founder and creative director, Dennis Chan’s original vision to reinterpret traditional Chinese myths and symbols into modern design classics which transcend time and culture. Another bangle comes with a Yu Yi lock as a pendant that can be flipped to reveal pavé diamonds on one side and onyx or rubies on the other. This unusual “flip” design was first seen in the popular Yu Yi ring, and is available in a bangle for the first time.
The new collection also includes 18k gold chain bracelets and necklaces which feature a classic Yu Yi pendant in red agate. “The lock is like a heart shape when worn as a pendant and I like the idea of linking the lock and the heart,” explains Chan. The gold chain is a similar shape to bamboo, which symbolises honour and harmony in Chinese culture.

Couture Wulu glittered at Festival de Cannes
It was glitter and glamour at the 70th Festival de Cannes as the paparazzi flocked to photograph the film world’s most talented people. Qeelin Creative Director Dennis Chan chose this occasion to debut a series of stunning new pieces which were worn by international film icon Isabelle Huppert, Hong Kong actress Karena Ng and Thai-Chinese actress Ase Wang.
Kering hosted an official dinner “Women in Motion” at Place de la Castre as part of the Festival on 21 May 2017. During the dinner, the Festival de Cannes presented the “Women in Motion” Award, created to recognise and pay tribute to women’s contribution to cinema. International film icon Isabelle Huppert received the Award and dazzled in Couture Xi Xi earrings in 18K white gold diamonds, jadeites, rubies and Wulu diamond ring. Couture Xi Xi is inspired by the traditional lion dance, an integral part of Chinese festivities and celebrations. The designs are both a masterpiece of precious jewels and a playful adornment — the “head” of Xi Xi moves as if it is dancing!
At the dinner, Karena Ng stylishly layered a Qeelin Wulu sautoir necklace with an 18K rose gold diamond necklace. Qeelin’s iconic Wulu collection, which made its original Cannes debut with superstar Maggie Cheung in 2004 and has been reincarnated at the festival. The traditional gourd shape that resembles the lucky number ‘8’ — a powerful ancient Chinese symbol of good fortune — remains the quintessential symbol of style creatively reimagined for the modern woman.
